- It’s never a bunch of bloviating opinion or rhetoric whereby the giver of the advice eventually winds up talking about themselves; instead, the focus stays on you
- It challenges you to summon up and call out your denial which means you’ll be told things you don’t want to hear – but need to hear
- It’s priceless to open-minded people willing to open their eyes to their blind spots and embrace or at least consider the merits of an alternative view
- If it’s solicited, then by all means listen; if it’s not, it is perfectly acceptable to walk or even run away
